Not paying attention to you

Your dog doesn’t listen to you—no matter how much you give or do for them, certain distractions make them completely ignore you.

Not listening to you

You say “no,” but your dog keeps doing the unwanted behavior as if nothing happened.

Aggressive behavior

Your dog shows aggression toward other dogs, people, or even family members. This behavior may be triggered by food, toys, or even something as simple as a gentle touch.

Every walk feels like a nightmare—you can’t call your dog back, they don’t listen, and they either bark, react aggressively, or get scared in response to certain triggers.

Fearful without reason

Your dog gets scared of every little sound, object, or storm—and no matter what you do, you can’t seem to reassure them that there’s nothing to fear.

During the consultation, we’ll explore the challenges and take a closer look at your current relationship with your dog.

Strategy Development

Solving a problem doesn’t happen in one session. Together, we’ll create a strategy to guide us step by step toward real improvement.

First, it’s important to identify your dog’s specific challenges so you know exactly what you’re working on. Once these are clear, set realistic and achievable training goals that will guide your progress. From there, you can begin practicing practical solutions—starting at home in a familiar environment, and later moving on to parks or calmer urban spots as your dog improves and your needs evolve.

Price per session: 550 DKK

Travel fee is calculated individually based on your location.

Consultation

During the consultation, we focus on specific behavioral issues. We look into the root causes, possible triggers, and potential solutions. You’ll receive clear, practical advice on how to move forward. Each consultation lasts 45 minutes and takes place online, so you don’t need to be located in Copenhagen. I usually recommend 2–3 sessions to help us make adjustments based on progress.

Consultation fee: 400 DKK

Initial assessment

The first step is always an assessment.
This is a 30-minute online conversation where I’ll ask questions about your lifestyle and daily routine with your dog. Honesty is key—I can only help with the issues that come to light.

About me

I’m Dani Bánhegyi, a dog trainer based in Copenhagen.

My life with dogs began with Nyafi, who challenged me in ways I never expected. I had to grow into the role quickly. Due to poor communication and a lack of proper energy release, we soon faced serious behavioral issues. I helped bring our relationship back from a place of real aggression—and since then, we’ve been living a peaceful, happy life together.

As a dog rehabilitation trainer, I continue to invest in my own learning and development.

I believe that most people don’t fail to meet their dog’s needs out of unwillingness, but simply because they don’t know what those needs are—or how to fulfill them.

Communicating with a dog is very different from human communication. Small, repeated inconsistencies in our actions can have real consequences.

I also believe that our dogs are here to bring joy to our families. But for that to happen, we need to establish clear boundaries and rules—ones that work for both you and your dog.

With one-on-one dog training and personalized consultations, you can rebuild a calm, balanced, and happy relationship with your dog.

Dozens of dog–owner pairs are now living in harmony together.

Dog training in Copenhagen and surrounding areas

Dog ownership takes real work—but the effort is always worth it!

Caring for a dog requires time, energy, and consistency. It’s a common myth that dogs only need two walks a day to be happy.
In reality, if we don’t communicate clearly with our dog or provide enough physical activity and mental stimulation, behavior problems are likely to emerge.

Frequently asked questions about responsible dog ownership

What does a dog need?

Dogs have a wide range of needs.
Beyond the basics like food and water, they require physical activity, mental stimulation, structure, and emotional support.
What exactly your dog needs depends on various factors—like their breed, age, and personality.

Dog training can help you tailor everything to meet your dog’s specific needs.

Do all dogs need the same things?

No! That’s what makes dog ownership so rewarding—every dog is unique, just like we are. Figuring out what your dog truly needs takes time and commitment.
But once you find it, your life together becomes much happier and more balanced.

Should dogs live in an apartment or a garden?

It depends mainly on the breed.
Some dogs can adapt well to either lifestyle, while others need access to a garden to stay happy and healthy.

If you’re choosing a breed, it’s worth consulting a dog trainer —whether you’re in Copenhagen or anywhere else in the country—to understand what environment will suit your future dog best.

Do dogs need rules?

Yes! Dogs actually like rules.
Rules provide structure and help them feel safe. As an owner, it’s your job to set up clear, fair boundaries that work for both you and your dog—and to follow them consistently.

Is owning a dog a big responsibility?

Absolutely. With some breeds, you’re committing 10–15 years of your life.
Your dog’s health and well-being are your responsibility.

A dog training—in Copenhagen  or anywhere in Denmark—can help make that journey smoother, more joyful,

Frequently asked questions about Professional dog training

What happens during the initial assessment?

The goal of the assessment is to get to know you and your dog. I’ll ask questions about your lifestyle and how you live together. This background gives me the foundation I need as a professional dog trainer to guide our first online consultation or in-person session in the right direction.

What happens during the online consultation?

We’ll focus on one or two specific issues you’re struggling with. In dog training, there’s never just one right solution—my role is to help you understand the options and choose the best path. In future consultations, we’ll assess progress and adjust the direction accordingly.

What happens during an in-person 1-on-1 training session?

We’ll work together directly on a specific issue. About 99% of the real behavioral problems come to light during these sessions.
This makes in-person dog training highly effective—we can clearly see where things are going wrong and what needs to change.

Where do the sessions take place?

Personal training sessions take place at a location we mutually agree upon. I usually recommend the first session at your home, so I can assess your environment. After that, we can move to local parks, busy city areas, or quieter settings, depending on your training goals and your dog’s needs. Travel fees are calculated individually.

Where do you offer dog training services?

My dog training services are available throughout Copenhagen and the greater Copenhagen area — covering up to about 40 km around the city, including suburbs and nearby towns such as:

Charlottenlund, Gentofte, Hellerup, Østerbro, Nørrebro, Valby, Amager, Frederiksberg, Hvidovre, Rødovre, Lyngby, Gladsaxe, Albertslund, Brøndby, Taastrup, Roskilde, Køge, Helsingør, Birkerød, Frederikssund, Greve, and more.

If your town isn’t listed, don’t worry — dog training may still be available.

What types of problems can you help with?

As a dog expert, I can help with a wide variety of behavior issues, including:

– Pulling on the leash
– Ignoring you
– Not coming when called
– Difficulty cooperating

And much more.
Every dog–owner relationship is unique, so we always work on the big picture—not just the surface behavior.
Don’t hesitate to reach out—my dog trainer services are available across Copenhagen and gretaer area.

How much do the sessions cost?
  • Initial assessment: 550 DK

  • Online consultation: 400 DK

  • In-person session: 390 DK

What should I prepare for each session?
  • Assessment: Nothing needed.

  • Online consultation: I’ll give you “homework” to prepare between sessions.

  • In-person session: You’ll need yourself, your dog (a little hungry), some treats, and a leash.
(If anything else is needed, I’ll let you know in advance.)

Can I do something wrong during a session?

The goal of each dog training session is to observe how you normally interact with your dog.
If you behave differently than usual—more gentle, more strict, or just not yourself—I’ll get an inaccurate picture.
There’s no need to hide anything. I’m here to help, not to judge.
Being honest is the most helpful thing you can do during dog training.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on how much effort you put into the process.
The one hour we spend together is just the starting point—the real progress happens during your day-to-day routine.
Sometimes new challenges arise along the way, and that’s completely normal.
As a professional dog trainer, I’ll support you every step of the way.
